Course Description

The 8-sessions Recorder Club is a live, small-group music class designed for children who are new to the recorder or have very little prior experience. In a calm and supportive online setting, children learn the foundations of recorder playing step by step — developing good technique, musical confidence, and enjoyment from the very beginning. Lessons are carefully structured and follow a proven beginner progression, while remaining playful, engaging, and age-appropriate. Through guided practice, familiar melodies, and clear modelling, children learn: * how to hold and care for the recorder correctly * gentle breath control and clear tone production * correct finger placement and smooth note changes * simple rhythms and short beginner pieces * how to listen, play together, and stop and start confidently Small group lessons allow for individual attention while also giving children the motivation and fun of learning alongside peers. Each child is supported at their own pace, with positive feedback and clear next steps. The Recorder Club is ideal for: * beginners with no prior recorder experience * children who enjoy music but benefit from structure * ESL learners who thrive with clear routines and repetition * families looking for a gentle, confidence-building introduction to music All lessons are taught live by an experienced teacher, with a strong focus on encouragement, progress, and enjoyment. Instrument required: Soprano recorder (German fingering recommended)

Maximum of 6 participants per group to ensure quality attention and support. Sessions are delivered live online through our designated video conferencing platform. Attendance & Punctuality Please arrive/log in on time. Due to the short 30-minute duration, late arrivals may miss important parts of the lesson. Sessions start and end promptly. Cancellations & Rescheduling Cancellations by parents are not refundable, as your child’s spot is reserved for the full program. Rescheduling individual sessions is not possible, as the course runs on a fixed weekly schedule. If Catapult Learning must cancel a session (e.g., teacher emergency), a make-up class will be scheduled. Withdrawals Withdrawals after the program begins are non-refundable. If withdrawing before the start date, a full refund may be issued upon written request. Behavior & Participation A respectful, supportive learning environment is expected from all participants. If disruptive behavior significantly impacts the class, the teacher may contact parents to discuss solutions. No refunds will be issued for removal due to repeated disruptions.
